Factory Safety

Make every shift go home safe.

A complete factory safety signage package covering PPE mandates, machinery warnings, electrical safety, emergency evacuation and forklift traffic control.

Why this matters — Manufacturing accounts for ~13% of India's occupational fatalities (DGFASLI); ~60% are traceable to missing or non-compliant safety signage.

The business problem

Mixed PPE compliance, moving machinery, forklift traffic and electrical panels create overlapping hazards on a factory floor.

International & Indian standards that apply

These are the codes an auditor, fire marshal or safety officer will check against.

StandardRequirement
ISO 7010
Clause 4–6
Uses globally recognised pictograms with fixed shape + colour: blue circle (mandatory), red circle (prohibition), yellow triangle (warning), green square (safe condition), red square (fire equipment).
IS 9457BIS-mandated safety colours and symbols for Indian workplaces; aligned with the Factories Act 1948 inspection checklist.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.145DANGER / WARNING / CAUTION / NOTICE header hierarchy for accident-prevention signs and tags at every recognised hazard.
Factories Act 1948
Sec. 41-B, Sch. II
Occupier must display hazard information, emergency plans and PPE requirements at prominent locations.

Material & mounting guidance

  • Sunboard / ACP for indoor shop-floor signs — durable, non-glare, easy to clean.
  • Retro-reflective vinyl for forklift lanes and outdoor signs — visible under LED and headlight.
  • Photoluminescent (glow) film for exit and escape route signs — mandatory for power-failure visibility.
  • Mounting height: 1.5–1.8 m eye-level for hazard signs; 2.0–2.5 m for overhead exit signs; 300 mm above floor for floor-level escape markings.

Common audit failures

Text-only PPE boards with no ISO 7010 pictogram — fails multilingual workforce audits.
Yellow tape substituted for a warning sign — tape is a demarcation, not a hazard notification.
Exit signs mounted below eye level or blocked by racking — invisible in smoke.
Missing lockout-tagout board next to electrical panels.
